I presented this song at the annual Beacon Hill Nursery School auction to a crowd of parents and relatives of young students.  I ended up writing a kind of epic song.  After all, if I was going to write about a FEW rooms in the school, it was only fair to write about each one, and I couldn’t leave out the administrative and support staff!

Performers:  Kaeza Fearn, piano and voice

The Beacon Hill Nursery School

Just push the iron gate

Come on, we’re running late

Down the steps you’ll see

The monkey bars and me so free…

A glance into the Green

Priscilla on the scene

What’s the quote of the day

Now, isn’t that sweet!

I think I will choose blocks

Look at my purple socks

What’s in dress-up?

Some special things

The Red Room has the view

With Cindy and her crew

They’re the little ones

just barely three

I won’t spill -- I miss my mom --

Hey teacher, did you get a cair hut?

I think that means “haircut”

Chorus:

   You’ll look back someday

Buffalo kids won’t you come out

To the Beacon Hill Nursery School?

A smile behind the desk

And pictures of kids at their best

There’s Brenda;

she’s meeting with Elaine

Elaine visits all the classrooms

And Tracey says hi at Bathroom

Courtney, Dorothy, M.L

And more behind the scenes…

There’s so much

that goes into this school!

The AM & PM  Blue

They let us all  traipse through

What an exhibition

it’s outer space

Hey dad, did you see my Mars?

I made it for you…

Because I love you.

What is that delicious smell?

Yellow Room sure feeds us well

Who’s reading at library?

Guess who, it’s my mom!

Read “Blueberries for Sal”

“George & Martha” what pals

“Make way for Ducklings”

Chorus

The invention convention

is so without pretension

It’s where Kindergarten makes

the things you really need.

Our shoe-tie-er will

   tie your shoes.

Homework Helper

takes away your blues.

We learn how to read.

We learn how to write.

We learn about friends.

   Chorus

The rainbow holds us all

Into our cots we fall

First our teeth we brush

we’re healthy here.

We can have our fits;

we can give our kiss

And you love us all

    through and through

Everyday and we love you

     Chorus
